MRI Lead Radiographer Duchy Hospital - Truro Full Time - 37.5 hours This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to join an organisation that invests in its facilities and staff, and who is looking to be part of a growing team. As the Lead, you will set the bar of what an exemplary patient experience looks like by being present in a clinical capacity, whilst also completing operational duties to ensure that the department excels alongside the other modalities within the diagnostic Service. The service will be open from 8 am - 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, shifts will align to the unit hours of opening. Alongside your clinical accountabilities, you will be expected to undertake additional responsibilities to support the Imaging Services Manager. This will include completing audits, financial review and budget setting and staff resourcing. Your flexible and enthusiastic approach, alongside your priority management, will be vital to your success. Being RPS trained is desired but not essential. Being able to adhere to the guidelines set by the CQC, IR(ME)R and other regulatory bodies will be crucial to ensure a safe patient environment. You will be accountable for the service within the MRI Department, having experience within a similar environment would be beneficial, but not essential. The successful candidate will be a qualified Radiographer and registered with the HCPC. You will have experience in managing a team of Radiographers or being an existing Lead MRI Radiographer within the NHS or Private Healthcare Service in the UK. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to take accountability and ownership of developing a department and managing a team.
Teach and lead the MRI service Commission a new MRI scanner for use Perform Specialised MRI such as Cardiac Prioritise workload according to clinical urgency/need when working single handed and running an area Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload. Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice. Work with leading practitioners and cutting-edge practices, equipment and facilities Supervise and develop junior colleagues Responsible for MRI safety in line with local rules To work within IRMER and own scope of practice, in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC. Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme. Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers. Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and, can report faults in line with Ramsay Health policy. Competency in IV cannulation is essential Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedural changes. Comply with all Ramsay Health policies and procedures. Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements. Participate in on call rota (must be able to attend site within one hour of call activation)
