2 years Fixed Term Contract - 10 pa's

The Rheumatology service is based in a modern dedicated unit based at Truro Health Park. This incorporates consultant offices, outpatient suites, offices for junior doctors and allied health professionals, as well as access to a meeting room and lecture facility. There is an onsite pharmacy.

A comprehensive Community rheumatology service provides peripheral outpatient clinics throughout Cornwall (Bodmin, St Austell, Newquay, Camborne/Redruth, Penzance, Helston, Falmouth and the Isles of Scilly).

We also provide Clinical Nurse Specialist Clinics for patients requiring Biologic Therapies as well as Rheumatology follow up clinics. Biologics are administered in
the Medical Day
Unit within the Royal Cornwall Hospital and west Cornwall treatment Centre. Inpatients are reviewed at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Rheumatology
  • To share with colleagues responsibility for the day to day management of the Rheumatology department.
  • Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students where
  • To actively support the Rheumatology research programme
  • To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
  • To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
  • To attend meetings as
  • Fulfill duties of weekly
