Mental Health Subject Matter Expert (SME)
.

You will be responsible for providing functional leadership and expert advice on mental health and wellbeing risk management. They will support the Group HSE strategy (Journey to Zero Harm) and Livewell programme through the provision of specialist advice, assessment, training and intervention activities to global audiences across the organization aimed at reducing workplace Mental Health risk and improving Mental Health and Wellbeing understanding.

What You Will Be Doing



Leadership:
Support the organisation in maximising employee health and productivity. Participate in global projects in support of HSE strategic deliverables aligned to Mental Health and Wellbeing. Provide expert support and input to leadership engagement activities.


Risk Management
: Develop and implement risk assessment tools for assessment of psychological health and safety. Support the implementation, delivery and evaluation of improvement programmes aimed at reducing workplace Mental Health risk and improving Mental Health and Wellbeing including the delivery/facilitation of workplace stress risk assessments and workshops to businesses and functional groups as requested. Provide input to the development of the Group-wide risk profile for Health and Wellbeing specifically Mental Health. Remain abreast of emerging global Mental Health risks which may impact employees and ensure these are reflected in the risk profile.


Standards and Compliance
: Support the implementation and maintenance of global policies, procedures and clinical standards for Rolls-Royce Mental Health service provision. Maintain a review of any regulatory or professional changes which would impact the HSE management standards in regards to Mental Health and Wellbeing and support updating of standards and any associated improvement programmes required as a result eg ISO 45003.


Emergency Planning:
Support health emergency and business continuity planning (pandemic, radiological etc.) through the implementation of standards and protocols to support the Mental Wellbeing and resilience of the Group in the response to emergency scenarios and business continuity risk.


Performance Reporting
: Support the development and reporting of global metrics on Mental Health and Wellbeing risks and improvement activity.


Clinical Delivery
: Provide clinical psychological services where required as part of RROH.Create, commission, clinically validate or deliver specialist training in mental health, wellbeing or psychological health & safety risk, suicide risk, manager mental health awareness training.


Assurance:
Participate in the Group-wide risk-based HSE assurance programme, including compliance with legal and other requirements. Provide specialist assurance to external mental health suppliers and training and wellbeing output in relation to mental health and psychological health & safety.


Stakeholder Engagement
: Identify and pursue opportunities to engage and communicate with leadership, employees and their representatives to promote the Health and Wellbeing agenda and in particular Mental Health. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a global network of Mental Health champions. Coordinate business support requests, training requirements, orientation, communications and updates.


Right Capability
: Undertake coaching and provide support instruction and training activities to enhance global HSE capability in Mental Health and Wellbeing. Identifying psychological services to support employees on a regional basis.


Shared Learning
: Through involvement with work-related illness reporting, assist the identification of reoccurring themes related to Mental Health risk to facilitate shared learning and inclusion in improvement plans.


Who We’re Looking For

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professional Council.
  • Hold a higher degree in one of the health care disciplines, and accredited or chartered membership in a clinical therapeutic profession e.g. British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy ( BACP), registration as an Occupational Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Educated to a masters Level in Occupational Psychology.
  • Experience in employee health service delivery.
  • Proven experience of providing specialist knowledge advice on risk management, ethics confidentiality and compliance and relevant legislation.
  • Coaching ability to help others achieve improvement in performance.
  • Experience working in an in manufacturing industries or safety critical environment would be highly beneficial.
