Job summaryThe Workforce Development, Education and Training Team is a team within the Corporate Care Group who supports and delivers a wide range of education and training across the organisation and in partnership with local university partners and Kent & Medway ICB. We are committed to supporting clinical practitioners to deliver best practice and high quality, safe patient care through our education and training programmes. The Practice Development Nurse role is integral to the agenda of the Workforce Development, Education and Training Team and the Trust objectives.
Main duties of the job - Work with other PDNs to lead and take responsibility for the design of a relevant programme of career development for the registered workforce.
- Undertake scoping of workforce needs for each banding, incorporating data from formal and informal reporting mechanisms in combination with observations in practice.
- Work in clinical practice with learners to support the assessment of competence, challenge practice as necessary and influence change through motivation and compassionate leadership, in alignment with evidence-based practice.
- Map the requirements identified, evaluating each band against nationally recognised standards and relevant continuing professional development (CPD) in order to create a common framework to which the Trust can aspire.
- Role model and share best practice, promote professionalism, uphold visibility and clinical credibility in practice.
- Collaborate with specialist teams to co-design, co-produce and co-evaluate programme to ensure it meets the highest professional and clinical standard in collaborative partnership with Trust policy, guidance and all stakeholders.
- Be responsible for maintaining current and credible lesson plans, teaching resources, Google classroom and competency documentation for all programmes delivered by WDET.
- Share and disseminate information to team and integrate key learning themes into education programme.
- Support the Clinical Skills Facilitators to achieve programme outcomes.
