We are delighted to offer a full-time opportunity for a Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist at Band 7 within the Step 4 City team, in Nottingham Adult Mental Health Directorate. We would welcome applications from those due to qualify in 2025. We are committed to providing successful applicants support to pursue relevant extended training.
This is an exciting opportunity the Step 4 City Service, which delivers psychological therapy to people who experience a variety of mental health difficulties, including complex trauma, depression and anxiety. We have a well-established history working with hard-to-reach groups and good working relationship with local GPs and the third sector. We are always keen to find innovative ways of working to support the delivery of psychological work in Nottingham City.
For applicants who have completed the taught element of training - but are yet to qualify we will seek to offer you a short-fixed term contract at Band 6 to enable you to complete your registration before moving to a Band 7 on qualification.
As a group we prioritise the individual Psychologist’s well-being. We want Psychologist’s to thrive and get the most from their employment as well as being able to balance this with their home life. Psychologists are encouraged to develop their interests within psychological therapies and also around the broader application of psychology to the mental health difficulties of the population we serve.

To deliver high quality, evidence-based, psychological interventions to improve the psychological wellbeing and quality of life of those referred to the service and enhance the psychological mindedness of the wider multi-disciplinary context within the Trust.

The postholder will be an integral part of the Step 4 City Team, and the Psychological Therapies provision across the Trust.
