Excellent and exciting opportunities are currently available within our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join our friendly, well established and experienced team.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the Level 3 Centre's within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Neonatal Network and part of the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network.

As a supportive team we believe that you will learn so many new specialised skills which will stand you in good stead to further your nursing career. This role is demanding at times however, it is so rewarding and worthwhile.

You will also be highly motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and have the ability to work independently as a lone worker and within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Main duties of the job

Care of babies and their families across the neonatal service in the different clinical settings: transitional care, special care, high dependency and intensive care.

Promote Family Integrated Care and the accreditation of the Breast Feeding Friendly Initiative.

Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver best quality care and outcomes.

About us

The unit is comprised of 28 cots - providing intensive, high dependency, special care and transitional care for babies in the Preston and South Ribble area as well as premature and sick babies from other parts of the Lancashire and South Cumbria region. The Unit offers therapies such as cooling, high frequency oscillation and nitric. In addition, we have a Neonatal Outreach team and dedicated research nurses all working collaboratively within the organisation to provide a seamless service that addresses the needs of neonates through to childhood.
