You should demonstrate excellent nursing skills and an ability to deliver evidence-based practice and promote the delivery of high standards of care. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess good organisational skills and be willing to develop skills appropriate to the area.

Depending on previous experience, the successful candidate will commence post at Band 3 or will commence post at band 2 and will be encouraged to achieve Band 3 competencies within 3-6 months and then will progress to a Band 3 pay scale.

You will be required to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work variable – full time or part time depending on candidates 11.5 hour shifts (Day / Night Rotation)

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
