The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading cancer centres in the world and has an international reputation for the care and treatment it provides. The Royal Marsden serves a local, regional, national and international population from two hospital sites, Chelsea and Sutton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 5 Staff Nurse for Granard House 3 Ward. The Ward consists of 7 en-suite rooms, providing specialist care to Surgical Oncology patients. It is also the dedicated Head and Neck Ward for Private Patients.

The successful candidate will have ideally a minimum of 6 months of experience as a Band 5. Self motivation to learn is important if you are interested in applying for this position. You will be supported to develop the competences required with an opportunity to further your studies at the Royal Marsden Hospital School of Cancer Nursing.

  • To plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way, which has been drawn up in conjunction with the co-ordinator of the shift
  • To develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit.
  • To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of managing a shift with the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
