An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) 12 month fixed term post as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cystic Fibrosis. A secondment to this post would be considered. We are seeking a highly motivated enthusiastic forward thinking adult trained nurse to join the multi-disciplinary Cystic Fibrosis Centre team based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in The City London.

We provide a high-quality service caring for adolescents and adults living with Cystic Fibrosis. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cystic Fibrosis you will work closely with our established multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance a seamless approach to delivering care to our patient group through their lifespan.

Applicants are required to hold a current 1st level registration with the register and hold experiences in a related specialty (eg respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, high dependency nursing). Applicants should be able demonstrate a level of experience in the complex issues associated with caring for young people and adolescents and end of life care. Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills need to be evident and demonstrated

Successful applicants will receive the support and opportunity to develop their clinical expertise and knowledge regarding all aspects of the Cystic Fibrosis service across both community and secondary care settings through formal and informal training and development. Applicants will be supported to establish and develop a highly specialised body of knowledge to encompass all aspects of specialist Cystic Fibrosis nursing care, to include; genetics, pathophysiology specific to Cystic Fibrosis, adolescent health issues, nutrition, palliative care and transplantation.
