Duties


  • Conduct remote assessments for adults and young individuals for ADHD, considering differential and co-occurring conditions to reach diagnostic conclusions.
  • Utilise clinical judgment and experience to make treatment decisions, employing advanced skills and knowledge in managing ADHD in adults and young individuals.
  • Assume autonomous professional responsibility for diagnostic decision-making within competence, with oversight from Team Leads.
  • Adhere to national guidance and policies, employing independent prescribing skills to conduct health assessments, initiate medication, and adjust dosage.
  • Develop and implement treatment and medication management plans for clients, in line with NICE guidance and national/local formularies.
  • Ensure active participation in ethical, shared decision-making, considering the client's interests in their treatment plan within a multidisciplinary team framework.
  • Conduct ongoing medication reviews for ADHD patients (adults and children).
  • Manage patient care coordination, including shared care transitions and referrals to local NHS services for annual reviews.
  • Verify recording of patient physical observations (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse) prior to medication review appointments.
  • Complete risk assessments and review safeguarding needs alongside treatment strategies during ongoing patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records on the clinical platform, writing reports professionally and within expected timeframes.
  • Provide recommendations for additional assessments or interventions within client reports, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to further develop ADHD pathways.
  • Offer consultation and training to staff members to enhance skills in this area of expertise.
  • Maintain registration with the appropriate governing body (NMC/HCPC).
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, management supervision, NMP supervision, and multidisciplinary team meetings/case discussions.


Essential Requirements


  • Current registration with NMC or HCPC without practice restrictions.
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (V300) with a minimum of 6 months' experience in ADHD prescribing (adults and/or CYPs).
  • Registered nurse or allied health professional with autonomous experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating ADHD (adults and/or CYPs).
  • Relevant experience in conducting ADHD assessments with CYPs and/or adults.
  • Ability to autonomously manage caseloads effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of legislation, research, and developments pertinent to ADHD.
  • UK-based home address.
  • Right to work in the UK.
