Practice Nurse 24 hours per week


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our nursing team working for the Tweed Practice and the Neidpath Practice. These are two busy teaching practices in the town of Peebles, covering a semi rural area with a patient population of around 11,500.

You will provide a full range of Practice Nursing duties, mainly focusing on supporting patients to remain healthy through monitoring of long-term conditions, health prevention and screening activities.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the knowledge skills and experience to work autonomously running clinics in:

  • Chronic disease management ie Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension & Chronic Heart Disease
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Spirometry
  • New Patient Assessments
  • Contraception & HRT Reviews
  • Urinalysis
  • With time in your appointment schedule for administration duties

You will also be flexible enough in your outlook towards your role to take advantage of opportunities to develop our services and make an active contribution to the healthcare team.

The practices are based in a health centre which also accommodates a Community Hospital, Day Hospital, Allied Health Professionals and Secondary Care clinics.

The position is part-time - 24 hours per week Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
