Band 8c: £76,412 to £87,723 a year Incl. 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata  PERMANENT 
Ensure that AHP interventions are evidence based/best practice, outcome measured and evaluated so that people who access services and their carers are provided with high quality service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Professional management for each of the Allied Health Professional Leads, including the professional leads for occupational therapy and arts therapies (8b).
  • Provide high level expertise in the strategic direction of the AHP workforce
  • Articulate the value of AHP interventions in delivering the Trust, ICS and regional priorities, opening up roles when appropriate to AHPs and expanding the workforce to ensure the needs of the people who are accessing services are met
  • Ensure that the necessary systems & protocols for the delivery of a safe & supportive service are in place, understood & adhered to throughout the professional groups
  • Lead and inspire staff to provide a pro-active and responsive high-quality service, contributing to ongoing audit and evaluation
  • Ensure that AHP interventions are evidence based/best practice, outcome measured and evaluated so that people who access services and their carers are provided with high quality service
  • Promote, initiate, and ensure that people who use our services and carers are involved in the design, development, and delivery of AHP services
  • Share best practice and embed learning to ensure a consistent approach to AHP service provision across the individual divisions, connecting with and learning from other providers within the ICS and SE region
  • Ensure the best use of the Trusts available AHP resource to deliver clinically and cost-effective services

Job Overview

  • To work closely with the Director of Therapies and the Divisional Therapies Associate Directors (AD) to ensure the AHPs across the organization have the leadership, clinical and governance structures in place so they are able to practice in a safe, effective and efficient way
  • To provide strategic professional leadership, oversight and direction to the AHP workforce across the Trust
  • To be an ambassador for and represent the voice of AHPs within the organisation, ICS and South East region
  • To have extensive knowledge of AHP practice national and local strategies and have a high level of clinical expertise and skills in their own professional journey, in order to effectively represent the AHP workforce
  • To address issues of retention, recruitment, career development and the future pipeline of AHPs
  • To have a corporate responsibility for the leadership of the Falls Prevention Group, reporting to the CNO, the Executive Lead for Patient Safety

This position provides professional, collaborative and compassionate leadership, strategic oversight and governance across theAllied Health Professionals (AHPs) throughout the Trust to ensure that people who access our services and carers receive appropriate evidenced-based and best practice AHP interventions so they are able to reach their full potential and by providing a senior leadership role in falls prevention.

This role would suit someone who has a passion for ensuring the delivery of high quality services and who enjoys leading and supporting people to achieve their potential. The person should be able to think strategically and deliver services in line with the national and local agenda. They should be able to lead on transformation work and deliver on complex service development/projects. They should be able to take a collective and compassionate leadership approach, engaging key stakeholders and ensuring that people who use services and their carers/family are at the heart of everything that we do.
