The Patient Flow Coordinator will lead on the tracking of pathways of patients’ who are suspected of having or have confirmed cancer. By working closely with the (multi-disciplinary team) MDT Clinical Lead, Pathway Manager and Service Managers and providing high standard of administrative support, the post holder will ensure cancer patients receive treatment as soon as possible and ensure national targets are met.

The post holder is responsible for providing a high standard of professional and patient focused service to a range of Trust-wide specialties and will support MDT functions on a day-to day operational basis.

This position is an opportunity to directly improve the care of cancer patients. By monitoring and reviewing patient care pathways and/or treatment progress, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with administrative and clinical colleagues to identify and suggest improvements to ensure cancer patients receive treatment as soon as possible.

The successful candidate must be proactive – able to identify ways to improve the progress of patient’s treatment pathways and then must take the appropriate action to achieve this, by working closely with clinical teams and managers.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others within different roles within the Trust are key to this position, as is strong administrative experience and the drive to improve patient care.

By working with clinical teams, managers and peers, supervising others, and the ability to show a direct impact to patients’ treatment times, this role offers excellent job satisfaction and career development opportunities.
