Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner at Woodland View Hospital.
What You Will Do
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, relevant qualifications and experience of working in a care setting or with healthcare, community or voluntary sector staff and the public. We will provide training and support to undertake the role.
This new post will support dietetic discharge, provide training to healthcare staff on first line nutritional messages, continue dietetic treatment plans of patients known to the dietetic service and initiate treatments within specified parameters to patients deemed to be low nutritional risk. You will also be involved in the ordering of nutritional products, stock management and internal administrative processes which contribute to overall departmental provision. Once you have had the relevant support and training you will have responsibility for the day to day management of your own identified caseload. By operating a partly shared team caseload we are able to offer excellent opportunities for clinical supervision and shadowing in a wide range of areas.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job
You should possess a SVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject. Experience and confidence using electronic systems e.g. Micrososft Word. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential e.g. excellent time management, great interpersonal/communication skills, organisational skills, self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership
UK Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week (pro rata for part-time staff) until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Ayrshire and Arran is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so
