Job Description:Are you ready to take flight in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary role?
The role is requiring a 'systems' engineering approach and spanning all aspects of the Vehicle Health Monitoring (VHM/HUMS) life-cycle: research & development of new algorithms, system specification and qualification, system fielding and in-service support.
For internal applications only, this position is JFF Level 4.
You will be expected to contribute to the design, development, support and innovation of both on board and on ground VHM diagnostic system, including, but not limited to:
- Development and validation of Vibration Health Monitoring algorithms applied to the rotor drive system, rotors, engines, accessories (pumps, alternators, etc.);
- Design of the on-board VHM system, including sensor location and system architecture definition;
- Development of Rotor Track and Balance tools and procedures;
- Definition of the on-ground VHM data processing requirements, to be incorporated in the Leonardo Helicopters maintenance ground station (Heliwise);
- VHM threshold management, including the design of automatic tools to manage the VHM thresholds;
- Interaction with Transmissions Department COE in order to assess and test new diagnostic techniques, support anomalous events investigations and analyse data gathered during transmission tests;
- Support to HUMS Product Support Engineering, including the joint definition of company procedures for the management of VHM occurrences;
- Qualitative and quantitative assessment of VHM diagnostic system reliability and performances, according to the criteria agreed with the aviation authorities;
- Development of VHM innovative solutions, also in cooperation with external suppliers (universities, consultants)
What we need from you:- Experience in signal analysis methodologies.
- Experience in Vibration Health Monitoring systems design or in-service utilisation.
- Technical curiosity, troubleshooting prowess, and a proactive, team-oriented mind set.
