Are you an experienced band 5 therapist looking to progress into a specialist post, or a band 6 therapist looking for a new opportunity? Due to service reorganisation, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy team based at Solihull Hospital.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with swallowing and communication challenges living in Solihull.
You will join a small and friendly team based at Solihull Hospital, who are passionate about providing the best care for this client group. With a huge amount of experience within the team, you will be well supported in progressing your clinical skills.
The adult community team is part of a large and supportive service which works across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals and you will have the opportunity to work with highly specialist therapists across a wide range of specialties.
With excellent transport links and close proximity to the town centre and green spaces, Solihull is a great place to work! By joining our friendly and inclusive team, you will have access to a wealth of support, with opportunities to meet therapy colleagues from a range of specialities during our regular wellbeing events.
You will be welcomed into the team with excellent training and development opportunities, as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system.
You will manage a varied caseload of adults with an acquired impairment of communication and/or swallowing, which will include adults living with dementia, neurological conditions and stroke.
You will assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment programmes to adults living in their own homes and care settings, as well as outpatient clinics.
You will be responsible for your own caseload, working without direct supervision but with excellent support from the team lead.
Due to the nature of the post, it is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to your own car.
This post currently includes participation in the weekend service for inpatients across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals, which provides an excellent opportunity to work in a different setting.
We'd love to hear from you for an informal chat or visit to the department. For any further information please contact:
