The Vacancy


Job Purpose:

This is a key position, delivering & supervising the planned and reactive maintenance, while supporting the AMM with customer/colleague communications across a designated site. This is a 'hands on' role with at least 50% of your time delivering planned and reactive tasks.

You will be the first line in all maintenance support issues throughout your site. You may be required to request specialist attendance following initial call out.

Support the AMM with key People issues e.g. Return to work interviews, managing the site rota

The purpose of this role is to deliver & supervise technical repairs and PPM's. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date and filed correctly for you and your team, both manually and electronically.

You will work to closely to monitor open jobs, PPM and compliance to ensure 100% completion on time, including certificate uploads to Mercury.

You will be the City point of contact for the 3PL.

All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation. You will ensure all tasks are completed in real time on Mercury and if job cannot be completed in once session you log as returning so data is accurate.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety
  • Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
People
  • To work with and develop DST & DMT automation and mechanised skills.
  • Attend training courses as and where necessary, to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments. All training must be kept up to date with none overdue, for your or your direct reports.
Excellence
  • You will drive Mercury usage and ensure that all DST/DMT's utilise the system correctly every time, in real time.
Service
  • Be the first point of contact at the designated site for the customer.
  • Supervise and help to deliver the Statutory and non-statutory Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and uploaded to mercury before 8th of following month.
  • To work with site M&S / 3PL ops team to plan reactive and PPM tasks.
  • To maintain 100% site compliance and "call out" issues.
  • To attend site / regional meeting to highlight maintenance plans and organise any changes required due to daily site operations.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and customer employees
  • Work with company and customer employees to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times
  • Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
  • Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement and quotations.
  • Ensure that compliance documentation is always completed and up to date and filed in the correct hard and soft location.
  • Advise the on-site M&S / 3PL management team of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the site.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual's technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
  • Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
Integrity
  • Manage and control stock on site.
  • Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City management team
  • You will be part of a call out rota to ensure 24/7 cover.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, Minimum NVQ Level3 City and guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.
  • 3+ years' experience in automated hanging systems / if required at specific site.
  • Have a proven track record in mechanical and pneumatic systems / if required at specific site
  • Ideally have supervisory skills
  • Quality of repairs and maintenance
  • Speed and efficiency of work
  • Response to service call requests within agreed response times
  • Achievement of PPM schedule within agreed timescales
  • Maintenance of the Health and Safety policy
  • Client and City colleague relationships and feedback
