Job summaryThis is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced paediatric Nurse with considerable skill in Children's Cardiac Nursing. If you have the motivation to teach others to perform skills safely, it may be time to join the Clinical Support Facilitator (CSF) team in a secondment post which provides an opportunity to develop your skills as an educator.
Working with other established CSFs in your area, you will be responsible for developing and delivering education related to your chosen field.
You will be supported by existing members of the CSF team who are experienced educators and can facilitate your development.
Applicants are required to be RSCN or RN-Part 15 (Child Branch) with extensive paediatric experience in Cardiac Nursing. Evidence of advanced clinical competency is essential with either the Childrens Cardiac Advanced course, Critical Care Level 1& 2 course or similar.
You should have good communication skills, together with the ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines. A desire to work using simulation within the clinical environment would be preferable. Evidence of a post-graduate teaching & learning course is preferred.
Main duties of the jobYou will need to have flexibility, vision and excellent time management skills to support the existing CSFs; and lead in change management and the development and implementation of new teaching models that advance practice through innovation.
With the underpinning of your existing clinical skills you will be supported to further your own practice that in turn supports you in providing education to lead nurses through their professional development.
Alongside this you will be required to support the Senior Nursing Team in a culture of dynamic leadership that continually improves patient safety and the quality of care provided to children and families.
Alongside the CSF role, you will also work as a member of the Faculty of Children's Nurse Education to address the wider educational needs of the Women's and Children's Division.
