We are looking for a qualified social worker who can support the Front Door in adult social care with screening safeguarding referrals and making timely decisions, in line with the Care Act 2and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
You will also be part of a rapid response service that undertakes face-to-face visits to assess the needs and risks of adults who are experiencing or at risk of abuse or neglect when required and provide appropriate advice and support.
The team is also responsible for triaging incoming work to adult social care and ensuring that referrals are directed to the most suitable service or team.
The role involves close work with South Yorkshire Police including reviewing DASH and Vulnerable Adults referrals. The service covers the whole of the Barnsley borough and is based within the town centre with hybrid working available in line with the rapid response rota. The post is for 3 months initially, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the service.
