We are now seeking to appoint a high achieving, values-driven and inspiring Chief Executive Officer to join our Chair in leading our engaged, dynamic and talented Board of Directors, focused on putting patients, their families, and our people at the heart of all our strategic decisions. As Chief Executive you will demonstrate compassion for all those we serve, as well as foster an environment in which our staff can thrive to deliver the best care to our children and young people. As Accountable Officer you will promote the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance, as well as offering clear direction, constructive challenge and support to our established team of experienced Executive Directors.

The person appointed will also need to demonstrate a capacity to develop meaningful partnerships in this complex, changing and multistakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities In The Role Will Be To


  • Provide strong, visible leadership and a clear sense of purpose that will deliver cultural and service change.
  • Work and take collective decisions as part of a Unitary Board alongside the Trust Chair and both Executive and Non-Executive Director Board Members.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the Trust meets all of its statutory and service obligations and be accountable for providing advice to the Board on all elements of Trust business and specifically on matters relating to probity, regulation and compliance.
  • Ensure that patient safety and high quality care are embedded as the key drivers of all aspects of the Trust’s business.
  • Fulfil our commitment to working and responding locally to deliver effective plans with partners which will aim to address health inequalities and improve life chances for children and young people.
  • Champion and embed an organisational culture that encourages innovation, values and empowers people and promotes the well-being of colleagues
  • Establish well structured, open and honest engagement with patients, the public, staff and all other stakeholders.
  • Ensure performance targets are set and achieved.
  • Provide proper stewardship of public funds and the compliance of the Trust with all statutory, regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust, building the reputation of the organisation nationally and internationally.
