1 Wednesday weekly session plus admin time



£22,413 per annum


  • 12 month fixed term contract from summer 2024**


Harrogate District Hospital are appointing a GP with a special interest in DVT work in the Haematology team based at Harrogate District Hospital.


Following a period of supported training through joint clinic provision, you will deliver one DVT clinic per week alongside our VTE Haematology Consultant. The clinic provides review of patients who have experienced a recent DVT and require assessment, decision making around anticoagulant therapy and follow up as necessary. Administration time and access to the team secretarial resource will be also be provided.


Please note the clinic runs on a Wednesday morning and interested candidates must be able to work in this time slot.


The departments pride themselves on team working and close collaboration with clinical colleagues to providing high quality patient care and are keen to expand our offer to the local population. NICE recommend that patients with DVT are seen to consider stopping/continuing anticoagulation at 3 months post-DVT. Currently waiting times for outpatient clinic are significantly longer and this post will bring the service closer to NICE recommendations.
