Lancashire and South Cumbria West Lancs C and Young People's Mental Health Service are looking to recruit a 30 hour permanent Band 6 Primary Mental Health Worker to assist with the early intervention part of our Children's Mental Health pathway provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered and experienced candidate from a range of professional backgrounds including Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy, to utilise their experience and skills in working with children, young people and their families whilst becoming part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary CYPMH team.

The role focuses on promoting resilience and positive mental health in children and young people in schools through the provision of training packages, consultation and also offering early intervention through assessment and short-term intervention. The suitable candidate will assist in coordinating input to schools in the local area to better promote resilience.

The ideal candidates will have post-qualification experience and have an understanding of mental health difficulties as children develop. This opportunity allows the successful candidate to gain further experience in leadership and supervision whilst working within a friendly and supportive team. There may also be training opportunities to assist in CPD.

The post will be based within CYPMHat West Lancs, however the successful candidate will be expected to work in a variety of settings and schools across the West Lancs
