Specialist Pharmacist - Band 6

A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist who would like to join the mental health team based at Highgate Mental Health Centre and St Pancras Hospital. This post will involve working as a member of the multidisciplinary teams within the specialities, across both inpatient and community settings, to provide high quality, professional and specialist input into the delivery of clinical and operational pharmacy services.

The post holder will undertake the teaching and clinical supervision of band 6 pharmacists and trainee pharmacists. There will also be an important role for training healthcare professionals and support staff as a member of the multidisciplinary teams.

The pharmacy department has close links with Whittington Health Pharmacy department enabling staff to gain knowledge and experience in mental health and physical health medicines optimisation.

To work within the multidisciplinary team and deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service; provide a safe, effective and optimised use of medication across inpatient and community settings.

Contribute to the education and training agenda for the department. Supervise and develop band 6 pharmacists and trainee pharmacists in their work.

Work closely with dispensary staff to support an effective dispensing and supply service.

To support the LeadMedicines safety and Governance Pharmacist in policies and procedures affecting the use of medication at both local and trust-wide levels. To undertake QI training to support the delivery of the C&I QI and Medicines Audit programmes and deputise for the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist in their absence.
