Experienced RMN required to join established service in a sought after role.

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon to Fri. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

Experienced RMN required to join established service in a sought after role. The Older People’s Mental Health Acute Liaison Service delivers multidisciplinary mental health care to in-patients at acute hospital sites across Glasgow City HSCP. The service has three teams covering defined geographical areas in North East, North West and South Glasgow. The post-holder may be expected to support any of these teams as required, however will likely be based in the North East (GRI / Stobhill) initially.

The successful candidate will have significant post-registration experience working in a role where they have autonomy in decision making and care delivery. The nature of the service means there is a high volume of work, often with short notice of new assessments. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a fluid caseload, overseeing regular discharges and onward referral to other services where appropriate in an efficient manner.

It is essential that you possess excellent communication skills and can engage with people who are often in distress. As a Band 6 you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and contribute to service developments. You may be asked to act-up for the Band 7 on occasions or provide expert advice to other services.

With a focus on reducing admissions to Mental Health beds, you will have an innovative approach to care and treatment and you will forge working relationships with peers in other services to support your patients as they transition through the health and care system.

The service has a flexible approach to work, with staff able to combine home-working with time in the clinical area. Your daily tasks may require travel between different hospital sites, therefore a driving license would be desirable. Current NMC registration essential.
