We major in security-based environments including custody suites of magistrates and crown courts.

Our services are delivered by highly experienced Paramedics and Nurses lead by our in-house Clinical Team.

Position:


We are looking for Health Care Assistants (HCA) to join our expanding team (as self-employed contractors) in Thanet, Kent.



Pay rate: £14.00 - £17.00 per hour



12 hour shifts -days 7am to 7pm & nights 7pm to 7am



Accommodation provided while on shift.

The Role


As a
Health Care Assistant
working for IPRS Aeromed you will

undertake medical duties ensuring the health and wellbeing of persons at our treatment unit in Thanet.

You will be expected to adhere to JRCALC guidelines and work within the scope of your HCPC registration, always maintaining clinical objectivity, with the patient’s wellbeing in mind.

As a
Health Care Assistant
your responsibilities will be:

  • To respond to assigned tasks via our online system in a timely manner.
  • To maintain good communication and relations with the IPRS Aeromed Operations team and Clinical Managers.
  • To ensure your kit and drugs are in date and are satisfactory prior to commencement of duties, and to ensure all items used follow the appropriate auditable trail and documentation.
  • To measure and record baseline observations upon initial contact with the individual and at appropriate intervals thereafter.
  • To act upon their clinical needs by whatever means judged necessary.
  • To produce accurate medical notes primarily to ensure the provision of ongoing care but also for clinical audit purposes.
  • To ensure the medical welfare of colleagues in the security team is always maintained.
  • Submit all administrative paperwork and invoices in line with company procedure.
  • Respond to requests by other stakeholders in the event of a medical emergency on the site.
  • Brief the Team Leader/HCP in the event of deterioration of your patient(s).

Requirements:


Qualifications:


  • FREC 3 / First Aid at work certificate (or equivalent)
  • Able to demonstrate Continuous Professional Development and BLS/ILS competencies.
  • Provide proof of your Covid and childhood vaccination status


Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years post qualification experience as an (Prehospital or Emergency Department) (E)
  • Basic I.T. skills (E)
  • Ability to speak fluent English (E)
  • Ability to speak languages other than English (D)
  • Full driving licence and own reliable transport (E)
  • Knowledge and understanding of JESIP (D)


Skills & Abilities:


  • Ability to work actively within a team, but to work without supervision whenever necessary.
  • Ability to identify and correct signs and symptoms of a deteriorating patient.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, in particular when interacting with a patient.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions quickly.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional if an individual becomes disruptive/aggressive.
  • Willing to register with The Health Practice Associates Council (HPAC)
