Are you rewarded by supporting people to make positive changes in their lives? We are looking to appoint three enthusiastic and highly motivated Support, Time & Recovery (STR) workers to join the PROSPER and Enhanced RECONNECT Services. PROSPER is an Intensive Intervention & Risk Management Service (IIRMS) for high-risk adult men and women likely to exhibit the characteristics associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder. The service is a partnership between Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Trust and The Probation Service . The service is part of the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) pathway and is a hub-and-spoke service with its hub in Birmingham and the spokes in the wider West Midlands region.
Enhanced RECONNECT (ER) is an NHS England initiative being piloted at four sites across the UK. The service will support individuals with convictions who have been identified as high risk of harm to the public and have complex health needs which may impact on their risk of reoffending. Convictions may include violent and sexual offences, terrorist act offences and individuals at risk of committing terrorist acts. ER will take a partnership approach to ensure that individuals leaving prison have their needs met to reduce their risk of reoffending, through multiple agencies, including health, criminal justice, local authority, substance misuse services, employment services and voluntary sector organisations.
Working as a team player, you will need to be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic and work within a psychological framework to aid the recovery and risk management of service users returning to community settings from prisons or secure hospitals. You will support the delivery of evidence-based recovery-focussed interventions and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes and recovery goals based on the multidisciplinary team assessment and formulation of the individual's needs. The role will involve engaging the service users via in-reach into the prison/hospital before they are released/discharged into the community and continuing to work with them in the community to promote recovery. The role will also involve working proactively with other professionals and services, such as GPs, substance use agencies, DWP, Housing providers, families & carers, friends and peer mentors to support recovery plans.
