NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 52 for a Health Care Support Worker.
Ward 52 is a fast paced, busy Surgical ward. It comprises of 24 in-patient beds. Ward 52 receives patients from the admissions unit as well as caring for the post operative patients and surgical high dependency step down patients. You should be enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated with a real interest in surgical nursing. We are looking for good team players with excellent written and oral communication skills.
You will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care.
You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate your commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. An active interest in working within an acute hospital setting and the ability to rise to the challenge of working within a fast paced setting are essential. We are looking for good team players with excellent written and oral communicators. You will be expected to participate in any training required. You should preferably have a SVQ 2 and be keen to work towards their SVQ 3 if not already completed.
Venepuncture and cannulation are preferred but not essential as training will be provided to the successful candidate

This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
