Job summaryProviding excellent nursing care on a regular basis. Taking charge and activelyparticipating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department.Supervising and mentoring junior staff. Participate in the decontamination, traceabilityand maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used inendoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and providing technical assistanceduring such procedures.
Main duties of the jobSt. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Endoscopy Unit is one of the three National Endoscopy Training Centres and houses the SW London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.
Comprises of six procedure rooms, providing facilities for both in-patient and out-patient investigations. The unit offers a wide range of endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
The team is staffed by team of experienced endoscopy nurses, the nursing staff working in close collaboration with gastroenterologists and hepatologists. All the staff are committed to ensuring that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered. The unit provides a range of educational and training programmes in endoscopy, available to both medical and nursing staff accredited with JAG and National Endoscopy Training programme.
