Champion Excellence in Care:

Lead with strength and visibility to inspire and uphold a culture of compassionate, high-quality care. Drive the development of nursing, Allied Health Professions (AHPs), and caregivers, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to deliver outstanding patient care.


Resource Management:

Effectively oversee human, financial, and physical resources within the division, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.


Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to the standards set out in the Health and Social Care Act, as monitored by the Care Quality Commission. Safeguard the well-being of all service users, their families, carers, and significant others by maintaining high standards of care and service.


Leadership and Deputisation:

Step into the role of Divisional Director when needed, and provide support as required for the Chief Nursing Officer and deputy. Your leadership will ensure continuity and excellence in service delivery.


Quality Assurance:

Lead the implementation of the Health and Social Care Act standards through the STAR quality assurance framework and audit processes. Uphold the NMC/HCPC code of practice, working closely with the Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Director to maintain robust governance and high standards.


Enhance Patient and Carer Experience:

Monitor and improve patient and carer experiences within the services. Develop and implement evidence-based care pathways, driving continuous improvement to maximize care outcomes.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS



Essential criteria

  • Registered as a practising Nurse on the NMC register or AHP on HCPC register
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
  • Substantial clinical leadership experience as Nurse or AHP
  • Recent senior management experience

Desirable criteria

  • Recognised training in improvement methodology
  • Participation in a recognised leadership programme.
  • Experience of developing and implementing alternative models of care
  • Experience of working / linking with and academic organisations

SKILLS AND ABILITIES



Essential criteria

  • Experience at a senior level of managing complex services in a changing environment
  • Experience in implementing change within clinical services
  • Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of current NHS policy
  • Negotiating and influencing skills
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Able to demonstrate coherent and detailed report writing at sub board level standard
  • Project/programme management experience
  • Understanding the role of research and development activities and clinical effectiveness as a whole within the organisation
  • Ability to enact sub board level report writing, with specific skills enabling clarity of purpose and provision of assurance through the mechanism of written reports.
