About The Role


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Home Manager to lead our team with passion and excellence. Located in near Northwich, the home offers nursing and residential care for up to forty-four residents, holding a 'GOOD' rating from the CQC.

We are seeking a Home Manager with a proven track record in delivering high-quality care, strong business acumen, and marketing skills. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to guide our home towards an Outstanding CQC rating. You will be supported by a dedicated team, including a Nursing Deputy Manager, a Hospitality person to assist with the management of hospitality services, and an Administrator. This team will collaborate with you to ensure smooth operations and exceptional care for our residents.

As our Care Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. As a regulated business, we expect the candidate to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and be familiar with all the relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to our residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy.

Key Duties And Responsibilities


  • Provide leadership and direction to the homes staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion, and empathy.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a team of skilled care professionals who are committed to delivering person-centred care. Ensure that the home meets all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain excellent standards of care and support. Manage the homes budget, ensuring that financial targets are met and costs are effectively managed. Develop and implement a well-thought-out marketing plan to maintain full occupancy and promote the homes services to potential residents, families, and stakeholders. Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and all stakeholders, responding effectively to their needs and concerns. Have oversight of all records to ensure that the homes administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Continuously monitor and evaluate the homes performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary. Manage and mitigate risks effectively, ensuring that the home is a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.


Skills And Attributes


  • Previous experience managing a nursing / residential home.
  • A strong working knowledge of CQC standards with a proven record of working towards achieving Outstanding ratings.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external professionals, families, and visitors.
  • A proven track record of marketing and business skills within the private care sector, running a commercially successful care home.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for developing high levels of person-centred care.
  • Ability to actively participate in the growth and development of the care service.


Education and qualification


  • NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience, desirable but not essential.
