1. Reception duties in the paediatric outpatient department.2. Ensure patients details are entered onto the computerised record system (CRS) as per Trust protocols.3. Answer telephone in the correct manner and take messages as appropriate or refer to nurse in charge.4. Produce labels for patient records as required.5. Responsible for clinic scheduling & re-scheduling when required.6. Work closely with medical, nursing and therapy staff requiring patient details and any other information.7. Assist in the production of formal reports regarding paediatric outpatient activity.8. Responsible for the compilation of monthly clinic rotas to ensure adequate clinic space. 9. Maintain absolute confidentiality in respect of all patient records.9. Communicate with children & parents in order to promote their comfort and wellbeing. 11. Ensure parents of children are aware of amenities and facilities available for their use and are enabled to access them.10. Promote a positive image of children' services by a professional and helpful approach to all team members and visitors to paediatric outpatients.11. Listen to impromptu complaints made by patients, relatives or other staff and refer to the appropriate person.

1. Adhere to the Trust policy for the safe keeping of patients' personal possessions.2. Report accidents/incidents to nurse in charge and complete appropriate Trust forms.3. Assist in the general cleanliness and tidiness of the paediatric outpatient area.4. Participate in an annual performance review.5. Understand the importance of fire precautions and is aware of hospital policy regarding emergency procedures for example fire, cardiac arrest and major incident.6. Be aware of responsibility in respect of the protection of children.7. Report to the nurse in charge and document any concerns or information relevant to the protection of the child.8. Attend all mandatory training and other training programmes as required.9. Assist in other areas as requested by the nurse in charge.10. Undertake any other duties as requested by the nurse in charge.11. Must be familiar with current applicable guidelines and policies relating to work area as specified by ward sister/charge nurse.
