Trainee CAPs will be supported to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours required to integrate psychotherapeutic models and to work in a person centred approach, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience, training and a formal qualification in applied psychology. The successful candidate will complete a funded 18 month Masters in Clinical Associate Psychology and end point assessment with the University of Plymouth or Nottingham Trent and will be employed by and complete a training placement with RDaSH NHS Trust.
During the apprenticeship phase, whilst undertaking the MSc programme, you will be remunerated at Band 5. Your MSc registration and course fees will be paid for you, so in return, once qualified and your apprenticeship has been successfully completed, we ask that you commit to RDaSH for at least a further two years, during which time we will remunerate you at a Band 6.
This opportunity has arisen within the Recover team for Older Adults in North Lincolnshire. The postholder will have the opportunity to train as a CAP, to prepare to work with adults of working age and older adults. This post is supported by a growing presence of psychology within the care group, supervised by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. There is an Assistant Director for Psychological Professionals committed to strengthening the psychology workforce in the Care Group.
As a Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist (CAP), your role will be split between undertaking the Masters programme and working in your allocated service, to develop the clinical skills and competencies essential to the role. Teaching will predominantly be facilitated online. Post holders may be required to travel locally to attend the training in small groups for some sessions.

The Masters programme is competency based, focusing on a range of clinical skills; including assessment, formulation, delivering evidence-based psychological interventions, service evaluation and research and runs for 18 months.
Applicants will have a minimum of a 2:1 Honours Degree in Psychology, or a 2:2 if they have a significant amount of experience to substantiate the application. An individual who has prior experience of being an Assistant Psychologist is essential. An individual with experience of working with older people is preferred but not essential.
