Main Duties and responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for the efficient delivery of remote smoking cessation support, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.

Team Establishment: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of admin staff and smoking cessation delivery personnel to provide remote support services to clients.

Service Setup: Lead the setup of the centralised support service, including establishing workflows, protocols, and systems for client engagement and follow-up. Working with clinical, community, social care, educational and statutory stakeholders to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care pathways.

Coordination: Collaborate with local smoking cessation services to understand their needs and coordinate remote support activities accordingly.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality remote support services by implementing quality assurance measures and monitoring performance metrics.

Resource Management: Manage resources effectively to meet service demands, including staffing, budgets, and equipment.

Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare regular reports on service activities, outcomes, and performance indicators. Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness of remote support interventions.

Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in smoking cessation support.

Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.

Represent the organisation and our smoking cessation services at local and regional stakeholder and networking events.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards related to smoking cessation services and data protection.

Performance management of the service, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of all service delivery in line with ABLs integrated governance framework.


Skills and Competencies Required

Skilled in

and accustomed to using tools and processes to identify project goals, set and manage the schedule, anticipate, and identify issues, remove obstacles, delineate responsibility, track task completion, and communicate progress.

ABL are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Service to lead the establishment and management of a centralised team for our national smoking cessation service. The successful candidate will oversee the setup and operation of this team, which will provide remote support to multiple face-to-face delivery teams across the country.
