The Reading School of Pharmacy is seeking an outstanding individual to take on the responsibility for all aspects of undergraduate placement support, focussing on the MPharm (Pharmacy) programme (full time, permanent post). The 4 year programme includes up to 18 weeks of placement for approximately 550 students, within various healthcare sectors.
This is a full-time, permanent position commencing as soon as possible.
You should have experience working with healthcare professionals and working with or within the NHS. You will be required to build and maintain long term relationships with healthcare stakeholders and placement providers within primary and secondary care in order to increase future placement opportunities for our students. This will be an exciting opportunity to take on leadership in sourcing, negotiating and organising undergraduate placements within healthcare settings, and will involve consulting with placement providers at senior management level. You will be responsible in ensuring that all contractual paperwork is completed by students, employers and the University, and the placements providers meet the necessary Quality Assurance requirements. You will also be pivotal to ensuring that our students are supported during their placement journey on the programme.
As a vital member of a wider School team, you will work collaboratively to ensure that services are efficient, effective and adapt to changing circumstances, developing on established systems and processes that meet the University and Regulatory Body (General Pharmaceutical Council) accreditation requirements.
In summary, we are seeking someone who has:
- A degree/postgraduate level in an appropriate healthcare-related discipline
- Strong knowledge of the NHS and the wider healthcare sector (primary and secondary care)
- Experience of providing administrative support
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to work within a team and support others
- Experience of working with and/or knowledge of professions within the relevant discipline/field
