Job summaryWe are looking to recruit into a part time position - 25 hours Healthcare Support Worker for our busy and thriving Outpatients Department , Estuary House, Whitstable which is part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
The candidate will be based at the Estuary House Whitstable , but will be required to work at Kent and Canterbury Hospital as part of the Outpatient Site Based Hubs, there will also be the need to support other Outpatients across the Trust should the clinical need arise.
Outpatient services are growing and there has never been a better time to join our team and develop your career. We are looking for a friendly and dynamic individual with excellent communication and clinical skills to help ensure the delivery of a high quality, evidence based and cost effective Outpatient service for patients and their families.
For this band 2 post 6 months experience as a Band 2 in an acute Hospital setting would be desirable, as would Out patients experience however we also encourage applications from other healthcare providers or those looking for a new career.
Your duties will be varied and will involve Chaperoning and supporting ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Endocrine and general Medical clinics. Some IT skills will be needed
Main duties of the jobApplicant will need to be highly motivated towards patient care with good communication skills and able to adapt to situations as they arise. Outpatients is a busy environment and has a variety of clinics within the area and you will need to possess a wide range of skills to support the department.
Outpatients is transforming some of the ways of working due to COVID-19, we have virtual clinics, telephone clinics and face to face clinics all with COVID-19 measures in place to create a safe environment for patients and staff.
