Registering urgent patients if have appropriate system access.
We have a Clinic Clerk vacancy within the CardioRespiratory Diagnostics Department. Working Hours will be 37.5 Monday - Friday (maybe required to work some Saturdays ).

This is an exciting opportunity for a self motivated and enthusiastic person to take on a challenging and sometimes pressurised role. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You should have a polite, friendly manner, and be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information professionally.

  • Arrange the booking, reception and follow up of out-patients for any clinician in accordance with agreed requirements.
  • Complete all required documentation and computer records.
  • Deal with any difficulties relating to the clinic, referring to a higher level if required, and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Receive and acknowledge incoming referral letters as appropriate.
  • Refer letters to Consultant/clinician for further advice as required.
  • Book and advise patients of appointments using the Trust’s booking protocols.
  • Ensure clinics are booked to full capacity as per the agreed schedule.
  • Make suggestions as to any modification to ensure smooth running of clinic based on demand.
  • Ensure that all outpatient targets are met, in relation to appointments.
