You will be part of a dedicated psychological team delivering ii and will have focused clinical supervision from an experienced psychological practitioner.
This is an exciting opportunity to employ an Assistant Psychologists to deliver the Clinical Care Pathways in KMPT’s North Kent Directorate on a 9-month fixed contract from August 2024.
Intent on bringing innovative ideas into practice, ‘Initial Interventions’ is an evidence-based clinical interventions delivered across Kent’s Secondary Care Mental Health Services but the new posts will be expected to deliver this Initial Intervention for the population in North Kent secondary care and in Mental Health Together. With a focus on psychologically informed interventions, these roles play a significant part in delivering a brief manualized intervention known as ‘Initial Interventions' under the supervision of qualified psychological practitioners.

You will be part of a dedicated psychological team delivering ii and will have focused clinical supervision from an experienced psychological practitioner. You will have plenty of scope and backing to develop your own clinical practice with a chance to input into ii research and evaluation.

You will be working closely with a group of 6 Assistant Psychologists in the North Kent Directorate – two in the DGS CMHT, and 4 within Medway & Swale CMHT. You will be expected to work on your own and deliver Initial Interventions in both individual and group formats, for which you will receive training and weekly supervision.

To participate in the provision of direct clinical work through the delivery of manualized psychologically informed structured interventions as part of Psychological Services to adults with mental health difficulties within the community & recovery service line of Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.


In Particular


  • To deliver ‘initial interventions’ to people accessing adult mental health services as part of the Clinical Care Pathways in the CMHT. Specific and targeted training will be provided by experienced Psychological Practitioners and all interventions supported by weekly clinical supervision from Psychological Practitioners.
  • To undertake other structured therapeutic psychological interventions in an identified service or services using own independent initiative within guidelines provided by a qualified psychologist.
  • To undertake clinical and service performance-related administration, audit and research projects, teaching, and service improvement project work under the professional guidance of a qualified psychologist.
