Are you a Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist or an experienced Cardiology Nurse?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our forward thinking and supportive team in Cardiac Rehabilitation, an integral part of the Cardiology service within the MSE. We are a forward thinking service who integrate fully with all levels of the MDT (Consultants, specialist Nurses, Physiologists etc) and work closely with the BACPR and NACR.
You will have responsibility for the assessment and management of patients with CAD, following revascularisation or heart valve surgery, who are referred for Cardiac Rehabilitation. Providing an individualised, health education and rehabilitation programme, both prior to and post hospital discharge, and assisting patients in adopting a healthier lifestyle by appropriately managing identified risk factors.
To be considered for this post you must have significant experience in Cardiac Rehab/Cardiology and/or CCU, with evidence of continuous professional development and education and possess excellent organisational skills, strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within the team.
Community working may be part of our future service and, therefore, a driving licence and access to a car is essential.

In liaison with the team leader, you will assist with the leadership and co-ordination of a dedicated team of nursing and administration staff to ensure the delivery of a high standard of Cardiac Rehabilitation and have responsibility for the assessment and management of patients with Coronary Heart Disease and other Cardiac conditions, who are referred for Cardiac Rehabilitation. Providing an individualised health education programme, both prior to and post hospital discharge and assisting patients in managing their condition and adopting a healthier lifestyle by addressing identified risk factors.
You will assist in the development and progression of the CR service and in the development, implementation and monitoring of Governance systems in the department relating to Risk Management, Health and Safety and Controls Assurance.
