The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer to join our enthusiastic Health and Social Care team, on a full-time, permanent basis. The start date for the role is 19 August 2024.
The successful candidate will be based at Nelson & Colne College site however, they may also be required to travel to our Accrington & Rossendale campus.
This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation, or a talented aspiring trainee teacher looking for support with their teaching qualification.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Teach Health and Social Care within the Health and Social Care Team and contributing flexibly as required to the delivery of programmes within the team's curriculum offer.
  • To ensure that the quality of teaching and learning across all programme areas is at the highest level and as a minimum meets the College's quality standards and as required by your Line Manager.
  • Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources.
  • Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up to date student/subject records and provide information, as requested.

What We Are Looking For:
  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment).
