An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the team in our Surgical Outpatient Department covering Urology, Bariatric and General Surgery clinics.
You must demonstrate a passion for surgical nursing, have the ability to promote patient centred care and establish good relationships with staff, patients and families. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team and support the Unit Manager in delivering high quality patient centred care.
As the service continues to expand in our new outpatient facility there is an opportunity to develop the service we can deliver in the outpatient department including biopsies, nurse led clinics and minor operations. We therefore require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised and with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
Excellent communication skills, ability to support and empower others, a passion for working in surgery as well as proactive approach to delivery of high standards of evidence based care are essential components to this post.
To work within both the nursing and multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent evidence based, holistic care to a group of patients.
To take responsibility for managing and co-ordinating the care of patients attending the outpatient department.
To participate in the teaching and supervision of junior staff and student nurses as required.
To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide patients and relatives with high quality nursing care.
Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct at all times.
Adhere to Trust guidance, policies and protocols at all times.
Participate in Trust and Care Group initiatives to develop nursing practice and support change.
Maintain their knowledge in light of current research and developments to practice.
Ensure their statutory and mandatory training remains up to date throughout their employment.
Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and patient records, in line with Trust Policy.
Adhere to infection prevention and control standards in all their work.
