An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Division as a Service Delivery Manager for Paediatric ENT, Audiology, Ophthalmology and Retinoblastoma.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in operational management to support the delivery of high-quality and efficient patient services. The successful candidate will also have experience in managing 18 week RTT pathways as well as experience in staff management.

This is a permanent position based at the Royal London Hospital.

The Assistant Service Manager is responsible to the Service Manager for the overall performance of the Paediatric ENT, Audiology, Ophthalmology and Retinoblastoma services . This position will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services to patients in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.

Managing the Key Performance Indicators and demonstrating continuous improvement in patient experience, with particular reference to a balanced demand and capacity plan, are key elements of the Assistant Service Manager role.

The Assistant Service Manager will support the clinical teams to develop the service in accordance to their clinical strategy. This will include Clinical Directors, Consultants, and the Associate Director of Nursing. They will support the Division’s implementation of service improvement and general development of services and play a key part in supporting change in supporting clinical teams plan and review care pathways.

You will look after and nurture the staff that you manage to help them to develop their knowledge and skills and perform to a pre-determined level.

Communication is a key priority as the Assistant Service Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust systems to cascade information, receive feedback and take appropriate action where necessary.
