Forming part of the overall targeted prevention and crisis services for young people, the service will work in conjunction with other Rough Sleeper Initiative services, as well as key council and other statutory services including Birmingham Childrens Trust, Birmingham Womens and Childrens NHS Trust and Adult Social Care.
The service will work proactively with regional and local accommodation support service providers including, Housing First, Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme (RSAP), Young Persons Housing & Wellbeing Lead Workers, St Basils Youth Hub, and where appropriate Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP).
St Basils has a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the young people's outreach service. The candidate will work collaboratively with outreach colleagues, and key partners including Forward Thinking Birmingham, to address the mental health needs of young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are rough sleeping or at risk of. This vulnerable client group may face complex health and social care needs including drug and alcohol dependency and mental health problems.
The ideal candidate will be dynamic, non-judgemental, and have excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to providing high standards of care. The role will aim to reduce barriers to accessing mental health support and by working better together, aid in recovery and long-term wellbeing for the future.
