Maintain and develop current knowledge of evidence based practice in palliative care and National Standards Framework & guidelines and incorporate these appropriately into clinical practice. Attend relevant meetings as appropriate.

Along with other members of the allied health professional team and wider MDT work to develop an appropriate rehabilitation programme for clients.
Identify and work with patients as early as possible to develop their independence and autonomy with activities of daily living (ADLs) to maximise their function and engagement in daily life.
Constantly assess the on-going physiotherapy needs of the patient, adapting therapy input as their condition changes
We're looking for a Physiotherapist (Outpatients / IPU) who will be responsible for undertaking holistic physiotherapy assessments and treatment of patients with complex, life limiting illness as an autonomous practitioner with support from the Senior Physiotherapist. We're wanting to hear from people who can contribute to the effective provision of rehabilitation and therapy support within Rennie Grove Peace as a member of the Therapies team with the support of senior physiotherapy colleagues. You'll maintain a respectful, non-judgemental and caring attitude ensuring the Rennie Grove Peace vision and philosophy of care is integral to the care delivered and undertaken. You'll also act as a Rennie Grove Peace ambassador within the community. Further to this you'll be expected to contribute to patient information groups and courses, e.g. advanced care planning course, breathlessness groups, exercise groups and Living Well.
Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and implementation of therapy intervention for patients with progressive and life-threatening diseases as an autonomous practitioner. This includes using analytical skills, clinical reasoning, and the use of appropriate outcome measures. Provide high quality physiotherapy input to optimise non-pharmacological management of symptoms including breathlessness and pain. Be a source of expertise, advocating nonpharmacological approaches to symptom control within the interdisciplinary team. Contribute to/lead and co-ordinate symptom specific group program such as the advanced care planning course along with colleagues.
