We are looking for a Diagnostic Consultant General Radiologist with a sub-speciality interest in Head and Neck Imaging! Join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering a world-class service while supporting our registrar training program. You'll collaborate with experienced departmental consultants, showcasing excellent head and neck imaging skills alongside strong general radiology abilities. Your role will encompass all aspects of the RFL Head and Neck imaging service, working with a multidisciplinary team to meet performance targets and clinical outcomes. Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for patient care are crucial. This position between Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm sites offers a chance to provide professional clinical advice and champion our Trust's values.
A subspecialty interest in Head and Neck imaging is essential.
- Competently interpret and report Head and Neck imaging independently.
- Prior experience of leading and presenting at Head and Neck/ENT MDTs independently
- Performing USS guided Head and Neck interventions independently.
- Soft tissue and organ directed biopsies, as well as the insertion of USS guided chest and abdominal drains, would also be advantageous.
- Experience in supervising junior trainees
- The post-holder will be expected to take part in appropriate accreditation activities including External Quality Assurance Schemes and also participate in Continuing Professional Development (C.P.D.) activities. The Trust will ensure that time and support are available to allow every consultant to comply with the Royal College of Radiologists annual requirements for C.P.D.
- Support infection prevention & control and antimicrobial stewardship activities.
- Participate in the supervision and training of specialty trainees and teaching of other junior trainees, medical students and hospital staff as appropriate.
- Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme.
- Participate in clinical audit.
- Participate (where appropriate) in service development and policy review.
- Participate in CPD and quality assurance activity including annual appraisal and revalidation.
