It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have a post¬ registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitor to work within the Cowal Health Visiting Team on a part time basis.

The post is a fixed term contract until March 2026.

The post will be based in the Children and Families Team under the direction of the Child Health Manager. The post which is part time 22.5hrs worked over 3 days Monday-Friday and will provide a health visiting service within the Cowal area.

Health Visiting is a diverse, satisfying and challenging role that involves working with children and their families to provide help, support and direction.

As a caseload manager you will be expected to provide a high quality, culturally sensitive, safe person centred and effective health visiting service in the community, whilst working in collaboration with partner agencies.

You will function as an independent , autonomous practitioner and should have in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience in health visiting and the GIRFEC Framework. You will be responsible and accountable for the ongoing management of your caseload to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the universal health visiting pathway and additional programmes of care.

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have a post¬ registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing with evidence of continuing professional development. You will be expected to undertake continuous professional development. You should have relevant post registration experience as a PHN/Health Visitor/School Nurse. It would be desirable if you are a car owner and have a current driving licence.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
