Band 8a: £51,706 to £58,210 a year per annum  FIXED TERM 

  • Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for the operational team for the specific technology area; manage workload, performance, and development of the team of Infrastructure engineers.

  • Manage, report and communicate performance of the team core infrastructure service availability.

  • Provide expert advice on team operational matters including technological advances to stakeholders such as service management boards, directors and senior organisational managers as appropriate.

  • Work with IM&T mangers and IT suppliers to ensure the delivery and continuity of services across the organisation, ensuring that relevant product and services are available, with functionality that fully supports operational requirements.

The role will ensure that the monitoring, reporting, communication and management of the performance, availability and reporting metrics for the digital services, that the team provides to a wide range of stakeholders match or exceed requirements.

The role will record and manage team risks in accordance with business governance processes and be responsible for leading on service improvement plans.

Ensure all corporate and operational information systems are supported, maintained and developed to support current and future business process/delivery

Plan and manage financial, human, physical and virtual resources for national IT systems, products and services with their team area.

The role is the technical management lead for a specific technology team, the acting as the subject matter expert for that technical team.

The role will be responsible for the creation of team operating standards and processes with Cisco ACI and CheckpointTechnologies, whilst also being a significant contributor to tactical and strategic operations including relevant policy development, and advises the organisation on how these should be interpreted

The role will assist in the planning and management of both financial budgets and human resources and the provision of hardware, software and public cloud implementations and maintenance including applicable upgrades, automations, optimisations and decommissioning for the core digital infrastructure team services or products.

Fixed term until 31/03/25 due to funding
