The Faculty of Science and Engineering seeks to appoint a full-time Admissions Assistant, and a part-time Admissions Assistant, both on a permanent basis (when applying please state which role you are interested in part time or full time),

When you’re with us, you’re not only working for the University, you’re working for people in our local communities and beyond, who benefit from our teaching, research and social responsibility. Here, no matter what your role or responsibilities, everyone works together with one common goal.

The role is to support our student admissions processes and ensure that our applicants and offer-holders have an excellent experience and introduction to the University.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to be part of our admissions team supporting our applicants and programme teams, working collaboratively in accordance with good customer care principles. Alongside processing applications and acting as a first point of contact for queries, you will also support open days and visit days (either on-campus or virtual), interviews and confirmation and clearing activities.

You will have experience of working with administrative processes in a customer facing office environment. The role requires applicants who thrive in a busy team environment, who enjoy interacting and supporting a wide range of people and who are flexible and responsive to customer needs. Strong organisational and accuracy skills are essential alongside the ability to adapt to changing systems and platforms and work and communicate successfully across both face-to-face and virtual channels.

The University of Manchester has a rich heritage of discovery, social change and a pioneering spirit, which has been at the heart of what we do since 1824. When you join our university, you become part of a truly diverse and global community of staff, students and alumni all focused on ensuring that we are recognised for the excellence of our people, research, learning and innovation, and for the benefits we bring to society.

We’re a proud Manchester institution and have ambitious plans for our future. At the heart of our vision are our people – a diverse, inclusive community of individuals who work together to create positive change for the world around them.

Research and teaching are the foundation of what we do, but the University relies on a range of roles to help create the exceptional. If you think boldly, act with integrity and celebrate difference, then this could be the place for you.

The University Campus Support and Security Services provides a safe, secure and welcoming environment for its students, staff and visitors across the entire University Estate, providing welfare assistance as required, with the continuous aim of ensuring an inclusive, hospitable, supportive and safe environment for all.
