The award winning Stroke team at Stepping Hill hospital is looking for a band 5 nurse to come and join our successful team

Ward A10 is a 28 bedded Hyper acute stroke unit incorporating high dependency beds , assessment beds for newly admitted patients direct from the HASU ED and some short term rehabilitation beds.

A10 is unpredictable and fast paced with great job satisfaction. It is an area constantly developing with excellent learning and development opportunities. The teamwork between the medical , nursing and allied health professionals ensures the constant delivery and focus on high quality patient care.

Our sister stroke ward E1 is a 30 bedded integrated stroke unit. The stroke patients get transferred to E1 from A10 for ongoing stroke rehabilitation. We are able to offer rotational contracts throughout the 2 units upon request.

We are looking for a caring, compassionate individual that is well organised, thrives under pressure and feels ready to develop their leadership skills within a friendly and supportive team.

Stroke experience is not essential as we offer a full in house training package. We offer you excellent managerial support and commitment to your personal professional development. You can access a variety of training courses from Acute Illness Management, ILS and preceptorship. The Trust has a number of SLAs with local universities to access a variety of courses.

We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.

We believe that the best organisations are those that reflect the communities they serve. We are therefore seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce to make it truly representative of our local population.

We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage & civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. Recognising those communities that are underrepresented within our workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from you.

If you require support with your application please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.

We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
