Job summaryBand 3 -Senior Health Care Assistant-Renal Home Therapy Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Renal Home Therapy Service in Lancashire. We have a vacancy for Band 3 Health Care Assistant 30 hours (4 days per week) and are seeking individuals who would like to expand their knowledge in renal services or develop new skills. The post involves the on-going education and training of patients and relatives on peritoneal or home haemodialysis to enable them to dialyse independently at home.
You will be required to work across the hospital-based training unit at Chorley Hospital as well as the community setting covering Lancashire and South Cumbria. Unit opening hours are 07:00-18:00 Monday to Friday. Shift times are 7:00 -15:00, 8:00 -16:00 and 10:00-18:00.
You will also be highly motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and can work independently as a lone worker and within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

Main duties of the jobThe main role of the band 3 Health Care Assistant will be to provide an Assisted Peritoneal Dialysis service, peritoneal dialysis training and providing support to trained staff members when teaching patients to perform their own haemodialysis.
The service also provides an acute drop-in service for the home dialysis patients. The Home Therapies Chorley team will work closely with the home therapies team based in Kendal to provide an equitable service for our patients. Car driver would be advantageous as the community setting covers a large geographical area.
