Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of pregnant women regarding their options of vaccinations during pregnancy in accordance with the Trusts policies and guidelines.

Strive for continuity of care and informed client choice within the limitations of the service.

Facilitate the learning of immunisation and vaccination skills through supervision, teaching and support.

Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging vaccination support for women as required.

An opportunity has come up for a nurse or midwife to join our antenatal clinic team to work as the band 6 Immunisation Nurse / Midwife providing clinical expertise to pregnant women. This is for 12 months maternity leave cover.

The nurse/midwife will be responsible for leading the immunisation maternity service and supporting/advising staff, women and their families.

The Nurse / Midwife will be responsible for reporting all immunisation data to the Trust and Public Health England accordingly.

Work in partnership with the client, Midwives, GP, obstetricians and other agencies to ensure that all women are offered and given where appropriate Seasonal Influenza, Pertussis and Covid-19 vaccinations.

Lead and manage the maternity immunisation service, ensuring 7 day a week cover is maintained.

Manage Band 5 Nurses and Band 3 support workers within the immunisation service.
